Week 1

There are 2 modes of learning:

• Diffuse

  • A mode of learning where you look at the big picture.
  • Instead of diving and focusing onto a specific thing, you look at the problem in broad terms.

• Focused

  • Where intense problem solving occurs.
  • Focused on very specific things, deep dive.

• Metaphors and analogies are a good way to learn

• Learning requires switching between these different modes of thinking.

• Learning takes time and patience.

• One million billion synapses in the brain.

• Contrary to traditional thinking, the connectivity is very plastic.
